UFC 281 “Adesanya Vs Perreira” + Weekly MMA Report

UFC Vegas 64 brought tons of lovely finishes despite it looking like a weak card on the piece of paper. In the main event of the evening, Amanda Lemos pulled out a massive upset with a standing TKO over Marina Rodriguez in the third.

Yet, the other four fighters scored the Performance of the Night bonuses for their high-level finishes. Neil Magny defeated “D-Rod” with a high-level third-round finish.

Mario Bautista battered Benito Lopez for a whole found before finishing the fight via a spectacular inverted triangle armbar.

Polyana Viana was victorious against Jinh Yu Frey, the bout ended very quickly as Viana connected a flurry of punches that skyrocketed Frey into another dimension.

Tamires Vidal kicked off the card with a high-level flying knee to the body finish over Ramona Pascual, whose bantamweight debut didn’t go well.

But another PPV is coming. UFC moves to Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, for a UFC 281 pay-per-view event, which is set to kick off at 6 PM ET on Saturday (11 PM UK time). This fantastic event is headlined by a great stand-up affair between the defending 185-pound champion Israel Adesanya and left hook knockout specialist Alex Pereira.

Pereira has already knocked Adesanya out in a kickboxing match. They met twice, the Brazilian won two times. This is an MMA match, but Pereira’s left hook is more precise than a sniper bullet. Adesanya will probably feint and circle, but the Brazilian’s one-punch knockout power is vicious thanks to his endless hours on a heavy bag. This should be a KO win for Pereira.

Prediction: Pereira to win (+158)

In the co-main event of the evening, wrestling expert Carla Esparza will try to defend her belt against brutal striker Weili Zhang. Weili likes to bench press at least three times per day, which leads to brutal straight punches. Just remember her bout against Jessica Andrade, she’s on a roll with wrestlers. Esparza will try to pin her to the ground, but if Weili hits her to the sweet spot once, it could be a big knockout.

Prediction: Weili Zhang to win (-360)
