What We Think
The V-fit Tornado rowing machine is the top of the range model in the V-fit series and comes with some good customer feedback which is always a good sign. The first thing you notice about this rower is the striking colour scheme and the fact that it looks very modern. In our opinion the speed proportionate air resistance is the best thing about this rower, we will talk more about that later in our resistance section. Due to this model been foldable it is ideal for home use as it takes up very little space when folded. Unfortunately there are no runner wheels attached for moving it around.
Resistance
The resistance system is what makes this indoor rowing machine suitable for both beginners and experienced users. Featuring speed proportionate resistance which basically means the faster the user rows the harder the resistance is.This makes this rower perfect for people with different fitness levels as the machine adapts to the needs of each individual user.
Another positive to this type of resistance is that there is no dial to turn to change the resistance level. This is a benefit that air rowers have over other types of rowers such as magnetic.
LCD Display & Monitor Functions
The LCD display shows a users readouts and it is clear to see them while exercising on this machine. Overall there are six monitor functions and these are calorie burn, distance, speed, stroke counter, stroke rate and time. Three of these readouts are visible at any one time. To see the other three all you have to do is push the orange button below the screen.
Seat & Handles
The seat features pretty much the same ergonomic design that you get with most rowers, for maximum comfort.
The handles with this rower differ from the straight handles that most rowing machines have. Due to the kink in the handles they allow for a more natural hand movement which is beneficial for those long grueling workouts.
Foot Plates
A lot of attention has been paid to the foot plates when designing this rowing machine. Featuring a pivoting design, which allows for a more natural foot movement, makes this model very comfortable to use. In addition the large footplates accommodate a large foot size and the tight-fitting straps provide a firm and secure footing.
Maximum User Weight
When looking for a solid, robust and very sturdy rowing machine it is well worth taking notice of the maximum user weight. Generally speaking the heavier the maximum user weight is, the more well-built a model tends to be.
With the V-fit Tornado rowing machine there is a max user weight of 115 kg. This is a respectable amount, however, for a rowing machine of this price you would expect a little bit more. As long as you don’t weigh more than 115 kg there shouldn’t be a problem.
Pros
- unlimited resistance
- 6 monitor functions
- Very sturdy
- Foldable
- Good warranty
Cons
- Not the heaviest of maximum user weight
Good Customer Review
For the price a great bit of kit works well easy to assemble. The ability to change between to stops for long legs makes this ideal for all height’s.
Bad Customer Review
It’s not that bad, especially when considering the money but do not expect a good rower here. You get what you pay for.
