UFC Fight Night 228 ‘Fiziev Vs. Gamrot’ + Weekly MMA Report
UFC Noche was one of the rare fight night events headlined by a title combat. In a rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko, there was no winner, the bout ended in a split draw. Yet, a controversial 10-8 scorecard in round 5 will be a hot topic for a long time. While Alexa Grasso scored a knockdown in the second, she didn’t do much in the fifth, so it is hard to understand the controversial scorecard.
UFC Noche Rewards
This time, there were five Performance of the Night awards, while there was no FOTN bonus. Let’s describe them all.
Raul Rosas Jr. shockingly turned the lights out on Terrence Mitchell in the first minute of round 1, while Daniel Zellhuber surprisingly finished Christos Giagos via anaconda choke.

UFC Fight Night 228 Announcement
After a nice card in T-Mobile Arena, the promotion stays in “Sin City”, but travels to UFC Apex, where it will host another fight night headlined by the clash of Rafael Fiziev and Mateusz Gamrot.

Rafael Fiziev is a Muay Thai fighter, a striking specialist with devastating leg kicks and elbows. He likes to control the central line and take part in toe-to-toe exchanges with the greatest guys in the division. If the fight remains standing, there is a huge winning possibility for “Ataman”.
Mateusz Gamrot arrived in the UFC as a former KSW champion. His first fights were very dynamic and entertaining. He outworked Arman Tsarukyan in a five-round fight thanks to his amazing grappling knowledge. He is known for Granby roll, a move that brought him into the dominant position many times on the ground. Gamrot will be looking for a submission in this battle.
Prediction: the fight will not go the distance
The co-main event brings the fight of two very tough wrestling experts – Bryce Mitchell and Dan Ige. Both fighters took part in violent wars, and they can take a beating. Ige is a better puncher, but Bryce is better at clinching and top control. This could go all the way, both guys are very skillful in all areas of the game.
Prediction: over 2.5 rounds

Bellator 299 Announcement
That’s not all folks. Bellator 299 takes place this weekend, and it is headlined by a title fight between the current champ Johnny Eblen, and Fabian Edwards. You can watch it on Showtime, while prelims are free to watch on YouTube. The event takes place in Dublin, Ireland. It starts pretty early, 11 PM ET.

Johnny Eblen is an extremely good wrestler, while Fabian Edwards creates a lot of damage with his punches. Yet, if the fight goes to the ground, Fabian will have a hard time getting up. This should go in the favor of Johnny.
Prediction: Eblen to win
In the co-main event, a young, talented wrestler and boxer Aaron Pico meets a dangerous puncher with an excellent submission game, Pedro Carvalho. Pico will hardly finish Carvalho, the Portuguese Octagon warrior has very good grappling and excellent top-control defense. This could go all the way.
Prediction: The fight starts round 3
