UFC Fight Night “Luque Vs Dos Anjos” + Bellator 298 + Weekly MMA Report

The last weekend’s fight card didn’t lack star power, and it brought some pretty fun matches. As expected, Tatiana Suarez finished Jessica Andrade via a nasty arm-in-guillotine choke and stayed undefeated, while Cory Sandhagen controlled Rob Font for five rounds on the canvas to score a unanimous decision win.

UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen Vs Font Bonuses

This time, Dana White was pretty generous, as many finishers were rewarded with an extra 50k. Tatiana Suarez, as expected, earned a bonus for her finish over the former division champion Jessica Andrade.

Dustin Jacoby snapped Kennedy Nzechukwu’s winning streak in the first round via a nasty punch, while Assu Almabaev dominated Ode Osbourne en his route to a second-round rear-naked choke win.

UFC head honcho also rewarded Carlston Harris, who miraculously came back after losing two rounds with an impressive anaconda choke in the third, and Diego Lopes, who finished Gavin Tucker with a wild triangle armbar.

UFC Fight Night: Luque Vs Dos Anjos Annoucement

After a lovely event in Nashville, the UFC travels back to the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, for another promising card. This time, it is headlined by the battle between dangerous striker Vicente Luque and former UFC lightweight division champion Rafael dos Anjos.

Vicente Luque was famous for many big knockout stoppages in the past. His big right hand destroyed many legendary names. Luque finished Randy Brown, Derrick Krantz, Bryan Barbarena, and many other top-notch 170-pounders. His ground game is excellent, D’Arce is his most dangerous choke. Yet, Vicente is on a two-fight losing skid, and he’ll try to get back in the winning column.

Rafael dos Anjos used to be a 155-pound champ, but then he had to move one division up because he was unable to cut so many pounds. He’s had ups and downs in his last 3 fights – 2 wins, one loss. Rafael was better than Renato Moicano and Bryan Barbarena but lost to Rafael Fiziev. His cardio is very good, and he’s ready for a five-round war.

Prediction: over 2.5 rounds

The co-main event is probably gonna turn technical, as powerful Hakeem Dawodu squares off against striking specialist Cub Swanson. Swanson is known for long wars, feinting, and counters, while Dawodu will be looking for a one-punch knockout. But this scrap will hardly finish before the final bell.

Prediction: over 2.5 rounds

Bellator 298 Storley vs Ward Welterweight Main Event

Logan Storley will test his skills against Brennan Ward in the main event of the evening. Storley is known for his excellent takedown offense and cage-cutting. He defeated Michael Page via ground control, but Yaroslav Amosov exposed his weaknesses in his previous outing. On the other hand, Brennan Ward is an excellent striker, but his takedown defense is questionable. This could be a problem.

Prediction: Storley to win

In the co-main, Valentin Moldavsky rematches Steve Mowry. Their first bout ended via no contest due to an accidental eye poke. Moldavsky is a very tough fighter, but Mowry is more well-rounded. This could be a long war, but Steve should come out victorious.

Prediction: Mowry to win
