Cage Warriors 160 ‘Hendin Vs Harila’ + Weekly MMA Report

UFC Fight Night ‘Fiziev Vs. Gamrot’ was one of the weirdest cards ever. Unfortunately, Rafael Fiziev suffered a nasty injury in round 2 and was unable to continue the bout, so Gamrot won via TKO. Mateusz landed a powerful leg kick seconds before Rafael’s knee injury, and it seems the injury was not accidental.

UFC Fight Night ‘Fiziev Vs. Gamrot’ Awards

The best fight was definitively seen between Tim Means and Andre Fialho. The Portuguese fighter survived many big bombs in the first two rounds, but he was stopped in the third by a UFC vet. Both fighters earned Fight of the Night awards.

The first Performance of the Night went into the hands of Marina Rodriguez, who destroyed dangerous Michelle Waterson-Gomez with powerful knees and elbows in a bloody and battered war. Charles Jourdain pulled out a massive upset by submitting BJJ black belt Ricardo Ramos, which forced Dana White to reward him with an extra 50k for the POTN move.

Cage Warriors 160 ‘Hendin Vs. Harila’ Announcement

The UFC takes a break this week, but no worries. There will be many lovely MMA events – Cage Warriors 160 will take place in Manchester, England. It is headlined by the clash of two top-notch strikers – James Hendin and Tobias Harila.

Cage Warriors 160 Hendin vs Harila and Fletcher vs Bryan

Tobias Harila was knocked out badly by dangerous Muay Thai phenom Samuel Bark with a nasty knee to the head, but he bounced back with back-to-back wins over Damon Wilson and Ryan Shelley. He is a pressure fighter with great boxing and powerful leg kicks. Tobias’ bouts rarely go the distance, he likes to brawl and press his opponents.

James Hendin is known for his technical approach. His special move is a rear-naked choke, which brought him wins over Paull McBain and Araik Margarian. Yet, he lost to the former champ Jordan Vucenic via the same move. Overall, Hendin is a good grappler, but he can fight toe-to-toe if needed too.

Prediction: the fight will not go the distance

After a stoppage loss to Dominique Wooding, Nathan Fletcher bounced back with victories over Alessandro Giordano and Daan Duijs. He is a BJJ specialist with excellent boxing and tremendous defense.

His opponent Thomas Brian is a shoot boxer with solid BJJ, a fighter who controls the central line and marches forward. Brian wants a slugfest, but Fletcher might try to drag the fight to the ground and finish his enemy via submission. This will hardly last for three rounds.

Prediction: the fight will not go the distance
